Only critters now.
After much ado about everything for the last few years, the backyard crew finally packed up their tools and remaining construction materials and left. For a variety of reasons, the whole project has been riddled with delays, setbacks and change, so I can imagine they are just as relieved as I am to see the end of it.
The neighborhood cat is thrilled, coming to hunt and avail himself of the soft, fresh earth in the two large, unplanted flower beds. I can live with that – his activities don’t need my supervision 😆
Did you get ripped off by a rotten construction company?

My landlord insisted on using a landscaper that has little experience in building decks and fences for the project. Luckily he had two assistants that did but he didn’t always bring them to site – talk about learning on the job 😆

That’s a recipe for poor-quality work… 👎🏻

Sounds like a huge relief to have that over with. I moved into my current house 7 years ago. 6 yrs ago I had most of the front and back yard ripped out and have been building it up ever since.
I’ll have to share some photos on the main blog. But yeah when I interviewed landscaping crews in the beginning, I got the sense that projects are never done on time which propelled me to go the DIY route.
Congrats on the yard!

It’s so odd having it finally done. It must be so much better having control over this kind of project – at least you know whose fault it is when something goes wrong 😆

Lol! True there has been some learning curves but overall I’m happy with the results.
