Yes, he really is – actually enjoys being picked up and held against my chest like a toddler, which is an odd position for a dog… He puts his paws around my neck!

Oh my gosh, really! I confess that I’m not a pet person–but your dog and my friend Debbie’s in Texas (a schnoodle, I think) have passed my high standards. I even wrote a poem for her Henry, whom I insist on calling “Henri”–so I’m smitten.

Most pets are just work, and the emotional toll can be really high… I must admit to having gotten roped into this one by my daughter!
